Business Listing Guidelines

Before requesting a new listing, use these guidelines to send the right information and help TopRated place your business on the most relevant page.

Last updated: 2 May 2026 Listing request standards

Basic information to include

  • Business name
  • Website URL
  • Primary city or nationwide coverage
  • Category or service type the business belongs under
  • Short business description
  • Preferred contact person and email

What makes a request easier to review

Clear geography

Tell us whether the business is city-specific or serves customers nationwide.

Category fit

Suggest the most relevant page, but only if it genuinely matches the service.

Clean brand assets

If you want a logo used, provide a clear approved asset instead of a screenshot.

What TopRated may edit

We may rewrite submitted descriptions for clarity, shorten promotional language, standardise category labels, and choose the most suitable city or subcategory page based on the actual service offered.

  • We may shorten keyword-heavy text.
  • We may replace vague marketing copy with cleaner summary language.
  • We may hold a request for later if the site does not yet have a suitable page.

What to avoid sending

  • Claims that cannot be checked from the business's public presence.
  • Category suggestions that do not match the service being offered.
  • Low-quality logos, screenshots, or images without permission to use.
  • Requests framed as "add us above everyone else" without a factual correction basis.
Good submission rule A strong request is specific, factual, category-appropriate, and easy to verify.
